By creating an account, accessing, or using BlockMarshal, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you must not use the app.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use BlockMarshal. By using the app you confirm that you are 18 or older. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their data.
BlockMarshal is a community safety application designed for residents of Ghana. The app provides: SOS emergency alerts, community incident feed, safety check-ins, trusted circle, Block Watch (neighbourhood watch groups), asset vault, item check, and case files.
Important: BlockMarshal is NOT a replacement for emergency services. In a life-threatening situation, always call Ghana emergency services first: 191 (Ghana Police Service), 192 (Ghana National Fire Service), 193 (Ghana Ambulance Service), 112 (General Emergency).
You agree NOT to use BlockMarshal to:
Incident reports must be truthful and based on your own observation. Block Watch posts must relate to genuine safety concerns. Stolen item reports must be for items you actually own. Report inappropriate content using the in-app report feature. Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination. For full details, see our Community Guidelines.
You retain full ownership of all content you create and submit through BlockMarshal, including photos, videos, voice recordings, text descriptions, and case files. By submitting content, you grant BlockMarshal a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, store, and process your content as necessary to provide the service. You can withdraw your content at any time by deleting individual posts, withdrawing incident reports, or deleting your account. Community alert data that has already been shared may be retained in an anonymised form for public safety purposes.
Basic BlockMarshal features are available at no cost. Additional features are available through paid subscription plans. All payments are processed securely by Paystack. BlockMarshal does not store your card details. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Cancel anytime from Settings. Refund requests should be sent to support@blockmarshal.com within 7 days of purchase. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice.
BlockMarshal is a community safety tool, NOT an emergency service. It does not connect you to police, fire, or medical professionals. SOS alerts notify nearby BlockMarshal users who have opted in and your trusted circle only. There is no guarantee that anyone will see or respond to your alert. Response times are NOT guaranteed. Always call Ghana emergency services first in a life-threatening situation: 191 (Police), 192 (Fire), 193 (Ambulance), 112 (General Emergency).
BlockMarshal is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted reports. We do not guarantee that SOS alerts will be received or responded to. We are not liable for any actions or consequences resulting from your use of community reports or SOS alerts. To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Ghana, BlockMarshal's total liability shall not exceed the total amount you paid for subscription services in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over your data. The Privacy Policy is part of these Terms of Service.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BlockMarshal, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. When your account is terminated, your personal data is deleted. Community safety data may be retained in an anonymised form for public safety purposes.
The BlockMarshal name, logo, design, and software are the intellectual property of BlockMarshal and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Accra, Ghana. Before taking legal action, we encourage you to contact us at support@blockmarshal.com so we can attempt to resolve the issue informally.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify you via an in-app notification. Your continued use of BlockMarshal after a terms update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
